Waxing FAQs

  • -Long-lasting smooth skin

-No cuts or irritation from a razor

    -No dark, itchy stubble

    -Finer/thinner hair regrowth

    -Slow regrowth too!

    -#Winning!

  • Of course, there is some pain involved as the hair follicle being removed is larger than the pore. We strive to ensure your comfort throughout the entire process. We'll check in with you several times throughout the service and chat to keep your mind distracted!

  • -A gentle exfoliation 1 day prior to your appointment will breakdown and loosen any built-up dead skin cells around the base of the hair

-Take a warm shower or bath right before to soften the pores and skin.

    -Wear loose clothing

-Avoid caffeine and alcohol 24 hours prior to the appointment

-Avoid UV exposure, heat and scented products for 24 hours

-Some find Tylenol or Ibuprofen helpful 30 minutes prior to the appointment

  • For any part of the body, the hair should be 1/4 inch long or the length of a grain of rice. Typically, this is two weeks post-shave. If the hair is longer, just leave it, there is no need to trim - we can take care of that for you

  • Yes! You MUST have a fresh tampon in or menstrual cup to get any Bikini/Brazilian wax services. You may also experience more sensitivity while waxing during your cycle but yes, this is totally normal and common.

  • We use a combination of both hard and soft waxes. Hard wax doesn't adhere to the skin, making it the best choice for sensitive areas like your face, underarms or intimate areas! It is free of pine rosins and preservatives, making this the most comfortable waxing experience ever!

  • -Facial areas every 2-4 weeks

    -Underarms every 2-3 weeks

    -Bikini/Brazilian every 4 weeks

-All other body areas every 4-6 weeks

*Everyone is different, we will recommend booking next during your first visit!

  • Taking antibiotics or topical acne medications such as (but not limited to) Retinols, Epiduo, Differin, Alpha hydroxy acids etc. can cause skin sensitivity and skin to lift when waxed.

*You must be off Accutane for 6 months before waxing. Accutane causes sensitivity making the skin much more fragile and waxing could cause lifting or damage to the skin.

  • A general rule-wait 24-48 hours to avoid any irritation.

  • One of our most popular services! Whether all hair is removed or you leave a little behind, the choice is yours! Typically, all hair is removed including between the cheeks leaving you smooth from top to bottom.

  • Having a hemorrhoid is nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about; it is so incredibly common. A lot of times, people wonder if the butt strip is still possible when getting a Brazilian wax-and the answer is yes! We will get as close as we can to ensure you are leaving Cures Esthetics Ltd. smooth all over!

  • All of our services are available for male clients to book with the exception of the intimate areas, which are: any Bikini, Brazilian and Butt.

  • Yes, you can! Waxing is a great alternative to shaving while pregnant. It should be started early on in the pregnancy and repeated every 4 weeks until the end. After your pregnancy, you may find that you're hooked on waxing! High hormones tend to make you hyper-sensitive, so it's best to not let the hair get too long in between waxes to minimize discomfort. Starting early on in your pregnancy will get you used to the process and make it easier for you in later months. You may also find that you have less discomfort and ingrown hairs if you wax, as opposed to shaving.

  • We recommend allowing your hair to grow out for 4 weeks without shaving, trimming or tweezing in between waxing appointments. This will help ensure the best results from waxing, as each session will be more effective than the last- and less painful due to thinner and finer hairs over time. Waxing is an investment and a lifestyle!

Nail FAQs

  • Yes, they are considered to be the same as both of them result in a long-lasting finish and have to be cured under a UV/LED lamp to dry. The only difference between the two is that ‘Shellac’ is a gel nail brand by Creative Nail Design (CND), while ‘Gel Nails’ or ‘Gel Manicure’ are the terms used when your nails need a UV/LED lamp to dry.

  • Ideally, gel manicures last at least 2 weeks, but with the proper nail preparation and foundation, they can last up to 3 weeks. However, even though your nails may look perfectly fine after 3 weeks, it is recommended to not keep them on any longer than 4 weeks for the health of the nails.

  • A Russian E-file Manicure is a technique that makes use of an electronic file to remove the excess skin surrounding the nail bed. It allows nail technicians to be more in control while removing the cuticle, processing lateral folds, and nail plates. It does not include the use of water!

  • NO! All of our nail services include Russian Manicure and Pedicure and there will be no extra charges for that!

  • Pedicure is done using an electronic file for callus and cuticle work. This makes the service last longer, and ideal for diabetic clients. Less to NO tickling!

Brow + Lash FAQs

  • A lash lift is a treatment where a solution is applied to the natural lashes that semi-permanently curls the lashes up; similar to the effect of a lash curler—but with way more staying power. It's great for people who find themselves curling their lashes every day, or for those who find that despite curling, their lashes fall pretty quickly. If you have naturally straight or flat lashes, this is a good option for you to try.

  • Results last for up to 6 weeks!

  • Everyone can do a lash lift unless they have had previous allergic reactions. We are able to do a patch test upon request.

  • No, you can get your lashes wet right after the procedure!

  • Brow lamination is a new trend in the beauty industry, originating from Russia. Brow Lamination is a process of restructuring perfectly placed brows, as it gives them a set uniform shape which could last up to 6 weeks – think of it as a perm for eyebrows. A nourishing treatment is applied as the final step to promote healthy brow growth. It can correct eyebrow shapes, lift brow hairs, and cut down on daily brow maintenance routine! A brow shape and tint can also be added to this service.

  • This treatment is not recommended for those who have scratches, burns, or scars near the eyes, have eye contamination, skin conditions, or inflammation in the eyebrow area.

  • Anyone who has unruly eyebrows and doesn’t want to spend hours grooming them, or anyone who has irregular eyebrow hair and wants to give them the appearance of thicker, feathery arches.

  • The tint can last up to a week on the skin and up to 3 weeks on the brow hair.

  • Yes. However, do not wash/rub vigorously.

  • Yes, it will work! It will create the illusion of full brows.

  • Anyone that has allergies to cosmetic dyes; however, our tinting system is ammonia-free and hypoallergenic.
